Scott Burns will give us a tour of the serious side of cartooning at the Sacramento Book Collectors monthly meeting at Arcade Library.  War, Politics, and Social Commentary in 19th and 20th century books, periodicals and ephemera. Scott is a non-fiction writer, attorney, avid book collector, bookseller and raconteur.  The event is free. Arcade Library is located at 2442 Marconi Avenue, west of Fulton Avenue Sacramento.  The library is closed so look for the community room doors on the left side of the building.  Lots of well lit parking.

I Street Info Sessions -- 2nd Tuesday 6:15 pm and 4th Saturday 10 am.

Join the Sacramento Public Library as we jump into the world of print-on-demand, self-publishing and writing/publishing classes.  We hope that I Street will become the go-to destination for all things writing and publishing.  Do you have a book inside you?  We can help get it out of your brain and on to paper and then print it for you. Every month Maryellen Burns and Lawrence Fox volunteer for two information sessions that take you step by step through the process.  There's also an author's guide. Go to saclibrary.org.  Double click on the I Street Logo and then look for I Publish at I Street for more information or istreet@saclibrary.org.

Morning Coffee -- Wednesday, March 7th, 10 am to 1 pm
Join us from 10 am to noon on Wednesday March 7th from 10 am to 1 pm with your writing or art pad, work-in-progress, or idea for a new project.  We’ll provide inspiration, writing and art prompts, pen and ink, watercolor pencils, and bits of this and that, to get your creative juices going.  There are almost always editors around to help sharpen your work, too.

March's Morning Coffee will be held at the CastleDab, home of Maryellen Burns and Leo Dabaghian, 2014 23rd Street, Sacramento. (between T and U Street). Each month we'll convene at different spots around the city, and see what emerges. That is, until we have enough material to publish Morning Coffee – the first in a series of literary books and magazines we’ll publish on the I Street Press Espresso Book Machine at the Sacramento Public Library.  There's no charge, but if you want to put a little money into the kitty to cover drinks and snacks, we won't turn you down.  The April Morning Coffee is April 4th in midtown, then we head out to Arcade Library for a while and a turn at Shine Coffee. Call 916-768-6077 or email: maryellen_burns@mac.com or booktalk@me.com for more information
